Ho Liao is the rooftop beer hall and homestyle Malaysian dining concept within chef Junda’s Khoo ambitious new three-storey venue in Melbourne’s CBD. Part of the Ho Jiak group, renowned for its inventive Malaysian cuisine in Sydney, Ho Liao crowns the Bourke Street location with a relaxed, communal atmosphere and a menu steeped in nostalgic comfort.
The name “Ho Liao” means “good stuff” in Hokkien, reflecting Junda Khoo’s intent to spotlight the hearty, soulful dishes of his heritage. Signature offerings include juicy Inchi Kabin (Nyonya fried chicken wings), roast duck aged for 10 days before roasting, and Assam Barramundi simmered in sambal and tamarind
